Beliefs are thoughts that are held to be true by us, causing us to see the world as we are instead of what it is. There are 2 kinds of beliefs – empowering and disempowering beliefs. All of us have a set of belief structures which either support and help us towards our goal of financial freedom and generation of wealth or hinders and prevent us from getting rich. Thus, we must know what our belief structures are towards money, wealth, success, rich people and ourselves. After which we must know if the beliefs are supportive or non-supportive of our goal. For those non-supportive ones, we must change or get rid of them.
This process of finding out our beliefs structure is called Awareness – to be aware of what are our beliefs.
Many a times, the beliefs that we have towards money, wealth, success and rich people are a results of experiences that people near us had encountered. They could be our parents, siblings, relations or even close friends.
There are 3 methods where we are exposed to such experiences:
1. Verbal programming
Verbal programming are things that we heard as a child regarding money, wealth, success and rich people. They could be from our parents, relations or close friends, however, the impact from our parents (or adult guardians) are greater.
2. Modelling
As the term implies, modeling is where we imitate the habit, thinking or behavior that people closed to us have with regards to money while are we are growing up. They could be our parents or adult guardians. And we may model exactly after them or in the exact opposite.
3. Specific Incidents
These are emotional incident(s) involving money that people closed to us had encountered, and with which we had witnessed, which resulted in us drawing some negative conclusion towards the incident(s).
The best way to find out feeling or beliefs towards money is to write down the experiences that we had witnessed under each method and describe the feelings or conclusion that we drew from them. We must search as far back as possible (as far as you can remember) to our childhood when this happened. This is because the impact as a child leaves a much deeper impression.
Once that is done, then you have to analyze if these feelings or beliefs are serving you towards achieving generation of money or not. It is good if you had not witnessed any bad experiences involving money.
However, chances are many of us had. And the way we are handling money now is either similar or exactly opposite to the conclusions that we draw from those experiences.
Now that you are aware of the your belief structures towards money, wealth, success and rich people, the next thing you need to know is that you must understand that all these beliefs are not based on actual experiences but rather on your personal interpretation or misinterpretation of those experiences. Therefore, for those beliefs that not serving you, you have to get rid of them else there is no way that you can generate and accumulate wealth.
‘Nothing has meaning except for the meaning that you give it.’
There are many choices in life – you can choose to be right (that is you choose to believe that the beliefs that are not serving you are right and you choose to keep them), you can choose to be happy and you can choose to be rich. Which one do you choose? To be happy and rich or to be right but neither happy nor rich?
Choose happy and be rich, get rid of all those beliefs that are not serving you in your pursue to financial freedom, cumulation of wealth and making money.

‘Nothing has meaning except for the meaning that you give it.’
That’s so great. I think many people are unaware of that.
I read somewhere that there’s a point between stimulus and response at which humans can achieve true free will. Instead of seeing or experiencing something and reacting, we can take a moment to think and decide. Like you said, we can decide not to abide by a belief that isn’t serving us. Good stuff.
