If you are selling a wealth program or a direct sales program you will very likely need to talk to people on the phone. Actually, you will most likely need to talk to many on the phone. As we know this is all a numbers game, and the more people we speak to, the greater the chance for success.

However, there is one problem with this and I would like to discuss it today. How can we possibly talk to so many people on the phone in a given day and actually market our program as well?

The answer is we cannot.

Internet marketing is, though appear simple, it is actually a full time job that requires tremendous effort, thought, and planning. Internet Marketing also requires a well thought out strategy which is extremely time consuming to say the least. As a part time part time artiste and part time internet coach and mentor for newbies, I know that I cannot possibly sell and market my programs at the same time – there simply isn’t enough time in the day to do both.

This is where delegation of responsibility comes into play. An example of this would be to hire someone to do your craigslist posting. You can find a reputable outsourcing company or find and hire someone from the local area. Another area of delegation is in the area of sales. If you give a sales account executive a nice commissions, and treat him or her well, you will not have to spent 16 hours of your waking hours working in your online home based internet marketing business.

In my opinion, this is one of the most important aspects of delegation as it has worked for me.

Delegation is the key to running a successful online internet business and maintain your sanity at the same time.

Work from home should be a freeing, liberation, empowering experience… not a prison.

Multi-level marketing (MLM) or network marketing is an ingenious marketing model – allowing people to start his own business at an acceptable affordable price.

In recent years MLM has been expanded and implemented online, thus bring its popularity to another level.

Given the popularity of MLM, many people are now the ranks of network marketers.

However, not many of them are succeeding in MLM.

This is because many of the MLMers are committing the same mistakes – falling victim to the same faults like their predecessors had.

What are these mistakes and how can we avoid them?

1. ‘Get Rich Quick’ Scheme

Many people believe that MLM is a ‘get rich quick’ scheme but in actual fact this is not the case! Like in all businesses, you will have to work and work real hard at it before you are able to achieve success. There is no way you are able to make any earnings while staying idle – any person who has achieved success in MLM will attest to that.

Hard work is necessary in multi-level marketing, be it operated online or offline.

Only after you have worked hard enough to build your organization can you then generate passive income from the sales generated by your down line.

However, that is still not good enough, you would have to ensure that you establish a group of committed downlines that share the same motivation, devotion and determination as you in order for your organization to stay competitive.

This may sound like a lot of hard work but the end result is that multi-level marketing is still a rewarding opportunity for anyone who is willing to put in the effort, devotion and time.

2. Over Confidence

Some people have the mentality that MLM is easy, this may be true for seasoned and experienced network marketers but for the rest this may not be the case.

It is necessary that we have certain level of confidence before we are able to make any sales for the MLM program. We must have confidence with the product or program that we are selling before we can convince our prospect to buy from us.

However, being over confidence will only become an obstacle to attain success in MLM. It will make us rest on our laurels – not making any improvements and putting in enough efforts, something which we cannot afford to happen in this line of business.

3. Leads are Useless

Some people feel that they do not need leads and that they are useless. They are dead wrong! In fact leads are the the lifeblood of any MLM. They are your prospects and recruits! Without them your MLM campaign is doomed to fail!

4. Complacency

This is another fatal assumption that many newcomers to network marketing has. Many newcomers think that once they have generated a certain volume of leads they would be able to succeed in their campaign and they can stop looking for more leads.

This is not true! Lead generation is a continual effort. Not all the leads that you have generated will become your recruits. What happen when you exhausted all the leads that you have?

In order to maintain or expand your income potentials in your MLM campaign you have to continue to look for more leads.

5. Lack of Focus

Some people think that they can join as many MLM program as they want so that they can generate more income from the different programs combined. However, this is not advisable because by doing this they are spreading their effort too thin.

When you engage in too many programs at the same time you will not be able to concentrate all your effort to achieve success in one program. By engaging in too many programs at the same time will only result in each one having partial or no success at all.

The best way to do this is to put in effort in one program, established and make it a success first before venturing to another. You can consider it established and successful when you can earn residual income in a sustainable and substantial level.

Doing this you are at least ensured of income from the first program while you work on the new one.

Above are the common mistakes made by a lot of multi-level marketers – remember and learn from them so that you do not fall prey to them.

Choosing an Online MLM Program

In order to make the most out of an Online MLM campaign, you must first enroll yourself with the right MLM program.  But how do we know if the program is right or viable?  How to choose the right Online MLM program?  Here are 7 tips which can help you determine which program works best for you.

1. Credibility

As in all investment, the first and most important thing you have to do when choosing any campaign is to determine the credibility of the program / company.  Is the company reputable with years of experience under its belt?  You don’t want to work for a company only to find out later that it is a scam, do you?  Do your research before signing up – do your due diligence!

2. Popularity

The next thing to do is to determine the popularity of the product you are going to sell – choose a program that sells proven products for a proven market.  You don’t want to promote any product that is hard to sell!  All the marketing tactics you know in the world will not help if the product is hard to sell.

3. Affordability

The selling point of the product must be accessible / affordable to many people.  Success in MLM does not merely depend on the number of sales you get but on the number of recruits you are able to invite to join you.  This is important because you can only derive residual income from the recruits that join you as your downline.

4. Belief

You have to belief in the product that you are promoting or selling.  If you want to sell your product efficiently, you must understand your product and have confidence in its effectiveness.  If you lack confidence in your product your prospects will be able to feel it and the deal is as good as dead. 

5. Competitiveness

A product that is highly demanded in a hungry market will work best for you – the law of supply and demand.

6. Compensation

Know how deep is the payment plan of MLM program.  Having put in your effort to build your organisation, you would want to earn some residual income from the program through the downline in your organisation.  This is the  commissions from the sales made by members in your organisation.  Usually this goes down to the third tier – that is you can earn from the sales generated by the members of the own line of the members of your down line.  In general, the deeper the tier system, the more profitable is the MLM program.

7. Commission

Know the commission rate of the program.  Although it may seem important but it is not the most critical.  This is because a MLM program may offer astronomic commission rates but if it is not sellable or highly demanded, you would not be able to realise any profit.  Thus you should not make commission rate as the primarily determining factor when looking at a MLM program.

A good Online MLM program would score well in all of the above tips.  However, when confronted with several choices, give yourself time to study and consider.  Evaluate your options and choose the one that best complies with the above tips and your interest.

There are plenty of information on what are the things you need to do in your email responses, over here I am going to talk about something that is least touched on, that is, what you need to avoid if you want to keep your customers.

1. Never start the unsubscribe section with the phrase ‘This is not spam.’ or ‘Our intent is not to spam’! Your intention may be good, trying to tell your customer that you are not spamming them but in actual fact whoever receive the email will get the wrong impression that you are. It is good to keep your unsubscribe section as simple as possible. Simple is good.

2. Do not leave too much whitespace between your signature and the unsubscribe section. Why? It only give your customer the impression that you are trying to hide it from them. Trust! If you are adding value to the life or business of your customer, why worry that he will unsubscribe from your mailing list.

3. Remember to put in the link at the appropriate place where you are asking your customer for further action. There is no point putting in the word ‘Order Now’ without bring your customer to the page where he can place his order. This may sound trivial but there are times where we do forget to do this important step.

4. Do not type the word ‘free’ as ‘F*R*E*E’. There are times when we need to use this word, we tend to separate the F, R and E with asterix to avoid being filtered by the email spam filter. Actually such mail may be distasteful to some recipients as we are bombarded with too many spam mails worded in such nature everyday and will only make your mail look like a spam mail. In fact, if your email is properly worded it will not be filtered even if you the word ‘free’ as it is.

5. Never CC or BCC your response to your customer to other people. Your response to your customer should be personal, respecting your customer for his business. No one feels good when he see a response from you that is copied to other people. Also, technically it may affect the long term email deliverability if your list long.

6. No physical address or contact. This may imply CAN-Spam and also may affect the trust of the customer. They may feel that you are afraid of them paying you a visit – doesn’t give a good impression on your business. There should be a place where you can receive physical mail, you can also use a PO Box if you do not have an office address and not comfortable in giving your home address.

Many of the courses, seminars that I had attended, books that I read all mentioned that blogging is one of the most effective ways of generating traffic, and it is FREE! But what should I write that will attract people to come and read my blog regularly?

I had earlier touched on topics like self-development, the importance of knowledge and literacy, and surviving Internet Marketing, but are these enough?

I have also read other people’s blogs, apart from those that touch on their personal experience, there are so many that talk about Internet marketing, motivation, self-enrichment, books reviews, product reviews, and the list goes on.

What can I write about so that people will be interested in my blog?

I like to travel, I like Chinese Opera, I like talking pictures but should I be talking about this when these have no relation in anyway to the product that I am marketing in the Internet?

My list of queries will go on and on, are you also in the same situation as I am?
